The NPD Credit Information Database (CID) is a real-time commercial intelligence resource built to help our customers identify risk early and avoid bad debt. Over many years, NPD has collated a substantial volume of information received from a multitude of sources, with new intelligence received daily, which is stored, collated and cross-referenced across a wide range of search fields.

Whilst credit reports remain relevant, the information on which credit ratings are based is often historic and may not reflect a company’s true current financial position. A company’s financial position can change very quickly for a multitude of reasons.
What Information Does the NPD Database Contain?
The NPD Database contains both positive and negative trading intelligence, enabling businesses to make informed credit decisions, adjust credit limits, and identify early warning indicators before problems escalate into bad debt.

Our clients inform us daily about their customers and any issues such as late payment, non-payment, disputes, and legal action they are taking. Our clients also inform us of companies that have ceased trading and where insolvency practitioners have been appointed. All client-supplied information is accepted subject to Data Protection Act protocols. - NPD Debt Recovery Department
NPD’s Debt Recovery Department updates the database daily with information from new and existing debt recovery cases they are working on, including extensive information from all searches carried out on those debtors. - NPD Searches Department
NPD’s Searches Department updates the database daily with information collated from all searches being carried out, including public record searches, with this information being classified as either Positive or Negative.

About the Information Provided
We do not issue credit ratings. We provide information only, and how recipients choose to act on that information is entirely a matter for their own commercial judgement, as they are ultimately responsible for their own funds and exposure to risk.
